Walking through the narrow alleys of the Souq (market) we found giant boiling pots, reams of fabrics, leather goods, birds, fish, rabbits, candies, jewelry, watches, hardware, rope, and things we had never seen. It felt as if we had been transported back a few decades in in time, but just as busy. We rounded a corner and caught this passing view as the sun set over Doha. We finished the evening with a filling meal at a wonderful Iraqi restaurant, while the 2011 Asian Cup was being played out on a giant screen at the end of the street! A memory of Qatar we will not soon forget.
