At a Date farm on the Saudi Border of Kuwait, the birds are loved. The owner has built large birdhouses to protect the migrating flights, and let them rest for their continued journeys.  The birds are welcomed with water and food from the date plantation.

Most of the date harvest is protected with cloth bags to prevent damage, but enough are left open to provide food and energy for the birds as they make their yearly migrations.
